Welcome to my Workshop

Stained glass is a really interesting material to work with, some glass is clear, some wispy, streaky or rippled, some with air bubbles inside and others with iridised or pearlescent finishes.

The process is quite long to make glass art, first I design a piece on paper with half an eye on how best to cut the glass. After I have cut the design the glass edges are smoothed using a grinder, then edged in copper foil before soldering together. For my larger pieces, such as windows, I use a traditional leading technique.

I specialise in bespoke stained glass windows. These are usually interior transom windows - the glass above a door in a corridor or inside room. I talk clients through the journey from design and measuring the window space to delivery of the finished stained glass window and how to install it. I send photos at every stage so that clients can see how their window is progressing, and a  short video about how to handle and install the finished piece.

I enjoy keeping this lovely heritage craft alive and welcome enquiries.
